Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement Coordinator

The Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement is a coalition of 10 local organizations that aim to increase access to outdoor spaces, environmental education, and job opportunities in Edwards, Colorado.
This position will serve in a collaborative role, working primarily with Walking Mountains Science Center in addition to EVOM partners. Primary responsibilities will be directed towards the day to day coordination of the Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement in addition to building broad community awareness of EVOM. EVOM is a community effort aimed at engaging more underserved youth and their families in the outdoors, with the ultimate goal of addressing environmental privilege in our community.

This position will report to the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives. The position is funded through the GOCO Inspire Initiative for a period of 3 years. Employment beyond the 3 years is possible, but not guaranteed. Specific responsibilities are listed below:

Administrative Responsibilities:
 Work closely with the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives to ensure successful implementation and oversight of EVOM: budget tracking, evaluation & reporting, timeline, etc.
 Assist in managing project timeline and project calendar – access given to all project partners: includes reporting deadlines, meetings, events, etc.
 Schedule and prepare for all meetings, i.e. Leadership Committee, Education Committee, etc.
 Maintain Google Drive – keep all documents up to date
 Organize Youth Advisory Council – all communications, scheduling of meetings/activities, etc.
 Provide monthly updates to Leadership Committee as well as grant partners (next steps,
progress, resources/feedback needed) Programmatic Support:
 Assist with planning and recruitment for community based family programs, school year programs and summer programs
 Plan and organize logistics for community based family programs kick-off event, celebration events, community events etc.

Programmatic Support:
 Plan and organize logistics for school program family orientation at Edwards Elementary, June Creek Elementary and Berry Creek Middle School at the start of each school year
 Plan and organize logistics for school program end-of-year celebration at each participating school.
 Coordinate with WMSC Community Programs Department and all program providers to ensure programs are full.
 Coordinate with Edwards’ schools and program providers for K-12 continuum.
 Determine collaboration strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness for EVOM
implementation.
 Enhance or improve a shared database for youth serving organizations to track enrollment and
impact data (determine what additional information this should include, how can we make it useable, etc.).

Marketing and Outreach:
 Work with WMSC Marketing Team to create and implement a marketing strategy, brand building, community outreach, social media content etc.
 Community engagement and outreach – attend community events to promote EVOM, work with Neighborhood Navigators, Parent Mentors and FLTI to build community awareness.
 Update monthly events calendar for EVOM
 Capture photos/social media content
 Create a monthly newsletter during the academic school year

Other Duties:
 Research and compile information on how organizations are engaging underserved youth & families in order to learn and adopt best practices.
 Identify possible approaches to collect longitudinal data
 Identify strengths and challenges for each organization, determine possible solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:
 Bi-lingual strongly preferred
 Computer Skills: MS Office, Google
 Ability to work variable hours as needed
 Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to build community relationships
 An independently- driven team player who is positive, flexible, collaborative and friendly.
 Comfortable presenting to large audiences
 Highly organized and able to multi task
