Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) seeks an Education Director to oversee its in-school and in-field environmental education programs with the goal of building a state-wide environmental education movement. The Education Director will lead, influence, manage and maintain these programs, and guide staff into trusted leaders of youth environmental science education. ACES environmental science education covers topics such as ecology, biology, climate change, sustainable agriculture, forest health, botany, renewable energy, and entomology for youth and adults.
For more than 40 years, ACES has been providing environmental science education for K-12 students in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. In 2018, ACES made over 65,000 student contacts with 64 schools and youth organizations. ACES’ science-trained education staff of eleven taught over 2,700 in-school classes, provided over 400 field programs, and over 65 week-long summer programs.
