Energy & Sustainability Analyst, City of Cambridge Public Works
(30 hour Temporary, two-year contract position)

The City of Cambridge Department of Public Works plays a critical role in developing and implementing energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reduction and sustainability programs for municipal operations. Active DPW initiatives include upgrading municipal facilities, expanding onsite renewable energy and developing a clean fleet program. The Department is seeking a motivated, well-rounded individual to provide analytic and program support to advance these and other projects. Bachelor’s degree in related field from accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental studies, public policy, mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, energy management, writing and project coordination as described above. Understanding and knowledge of energy management principles and practices. Strong data and analytic skills and willingness to spend at least 50% of time working on data management tasks. Able to work independently, prioritize work assignments to meet schedules and timeline and ability to take initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent writing skills for a professional audience. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially experience using Microsoft Excel, Access and/or other applications to maintain and analyze data. $25.60 - $30.22 per hour (in 7 steps) + excellent benefits.
