This summer position provides an opportunity to work with a nationally recognized residential experiential education institute while living in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Especially appropriate for someone who would like to gain entry-level experience in experiential education, teaching techniques, natural history, and science skills. Responsibilities: Assist in implementing summer residential camp programs for youth including facilitating nature experiences and adventures; conducting campfire and other evening programs; lesson planning and curriculum development; overnight supervision of campers; co-leading hikes; and the possibility of co-leading backpacking trips. A well-rounded internship experience can be expected through work and observation of all aspects of the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont.
