Open Position – S. C. Technical Assistance Provider (TAP)- Rural Community Development Initiative Program


SERCAP is seeking a professional with experience in drinking water and/or wastewater field to provide training and technical assistance to utility owners, managers, local governments, and rural community members. Applicant must have knowledge of federal/state drinking/wastewater facilities’ regulations; must be familiar with small community systems; knowledge of problems in rural communities required; and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

This full time position is based out of Winnsboro, South Carolina, but requiring local and some out-of-state travel.

Compensation: Expected Salary of $45,000.

•Requires Bachelors Degree in engineering, biology, hydrology, environmental science, water resources management or related field; or special course work related to the field of water and/or wastewater operations.
•Five years of any combination of applicable experience in public/private water and/or wastewater operations.
•Knowledge and use of computers.
•Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
•Must be able to travel extensively in-state.

Special Requirements/Experience

•Operator Certification in either wastewater and/or drinking water; or experience in asset management, CUPSS, GPS utilization, GIS applications and mapping, and/or developing fiscal sustainability plans is a plus.
